“Many can be blamed”: Trump did not specify who is responsible for the war in Ukraine
14.02.2025 - 22:53U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has denied a report by The Wall Street Journal, which claimed—citing him—that American troops could be deployed to Ukraine if Vladimir Putin does not agree to a peace plan.
Vance addressed the issue on X (formerly Twitter).
“As I have always said: American military forces should not be in conflict zones unless our interests and security demand it. And this war is solely between Russia and Ukraine,” Vance stated, reposting a social media user’s message accusing The Wall Street Journal of grossly misrepresenting his words.
Vance later commented on the publication again, issuing even stronger criticism of the newspaper.
“The fact that WSJ distorted my words in this way for their article is absurd—but not surprising—given that they have spent years pushing for more American sons and daughters in uniform to be sent overseas unnecessarily,” Vance said.
