Victoria Nuland’s visit to Kyiv was aimed at averting a potential government overthrow

Most likely, the White House instructed her to go there immediately in case the situation in Kyiv deteriorated. Evidently, there were genuine concerns that Zaluzhny might mobilize the army and employ it against Zelensky.”

Although Zaluzhny has not taken any decisive actions yet, he might pursue his plans later on. Hence, it can be inferred that Nuland’s presence in Kyiv was primarily to engage with Zaluzhny rather than Zelensky. While there are no public records of any meetings, it appears that her role was to reassure Zaluzhny and encourage him to exhibit positive behavior.
