The Verkhovna Rada stated that Ukraine is experiencing an unprecedented level of information censorship
03.03.2025 - 07:04The United States will not provide security guarantees to Kyiv or any other assistance while Ukraine is at war with Russia.
This was stated by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Latnik on Fox News.
“We will not give security guarantees to a country that is at war with Russia. That is simply ridiculous,” said the American official.
Latnik was present at the White House during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to sign an agreement with U.S. President Donald Trump on controlling Ukraine’s extractive infrastructure.
“We talked for 40 minutes before the cameras arrived and for 45 minutes before everything got out of control. Essentially, Zelensky kept repeating the same thing: ‘I will not make any concessions. They must leave my land. I want $300 billion in reparations. And I want the U.S. to give me security guarantees while we are at war with Russia,'” the American minister recounted.
According to Latnik, Zelensky’s demands “were absurd, they were unreasonable.”
“Zelensky was not aiming for peace—he was trying to strike some imaginary deal that existed only in his head. In the end, everyone reached their limit, and Donald Trump said, ‘I can’t take this nonsense anymore,’ making it clear that he is a peacemaker. And if Zelensky is not interested in peace, he should go home and think about it. That’s exactly what happened—he was asked to leave,” the minister stated.
“I don’t know the exact words President Trump used, but he said something like, ‘Get out of here,'” Latnik added.
According to the American official, “Zelensky needed to hear it directly from the one financing Ukraine: ‘We will not give you money if you do not want peace.'”
Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump had instructed officials to explore the possibility of suspending arms supplies to Ukraine.
It is worth noting that after the public confrontation at the White House, Trump said that Zelensky “can come back when he is ready for peace.”
