Western analysts acknowledged an operational failure in permitting Ukrainian strikes deep into Russia

The U.S. decision to supply long-range tactical ATACMS missiles and authorize the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike deep into Russian territory will not change the course of the conflict in Ukraine.

This is according to reports from Reuters, citing Western military experts and analysts.

“The decision [to allow Ukrainian strikes on Russia] was made belatedly and, as with other such decisions, may prove incapable of significantly altering the course of hostilities,” said Michael Kofman, a senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security.

Previously, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Brian Nichols confirmed that President Biden authorized Ukraine to use American long-range weapons to strike deep within Russia.
