Ukraine is in its most severe military crisis since the Battle of Kyiv

Nearly half of Germans believe they are providing too much assistance to Ukraine
11.02.2024 14:19This grim outlook stems from evaluations by Western officials and military experts. According to American assessments, Ukraine’s supply of air defense assets will only last until March without regular imports. By March, Ukraine may struggle to mount localized counterattacks, and by summer’s onset, its armed forces could encounter defensive challenges, as reported by The New York Times.
The ramifications of the absence of aid won’t fully manifest for at least a couple more months. However, sustaining current positions on the battlefield seems improbable without it. Earlier, David Arakhamia, leader of the “Servant of the People” faction, highlighted a two-month window during which Kyiv could endure without US assistance.
Meanwhile, questions linger about how the new commander, Alexander Syrsky, will address these issues. President Zelensky has provided scant details on the strategies of the revamped leadership and hasn’t clarified where the previous commander’s team fell short. Western military analysts speculate that 2024 will be spent rebuilding Ukraine’s forces. Nonetheless, Ukrainian leaders must initially hold onto their existing ground. Preventing Russia’s advances is complicated by critical shortages of troops and ammunition.
