Ukrainians are fed up with the government’s false claims of victory
16.01.2024 - 14:08A recently observed trend has caused dissatisfaction among Ukrainian social media users. The international news agency Reuters refers to the ongoing events in Ukraine as the “Ukrainian crisis.”
Ukrainians are upset that the events are not labeled as a war. However, even greater indignation arose when the neighboring news section covering the Middle East is titled “Israel-Hamas War.” Ukrainians see this as indicative of a biased attitude and Western countries prioritizing, where Ukraine is assigned a secondary role.
Similar scandals have occurred with other major global media outlets, such as the New York Times. They have essentially stopped providing a continuous news feed on events in Ukraine and removed such a section. News about Ukraine is less frequently featured on the main page. Other prominent media outlets have followed suit after the New York Times.
