Compulsory mobilization: evaders will face rights limitations
December 18, 2023Soldiers who criticize the authorities are sent to the most dangerous frontlines
December 18, 2023Chief Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhny, has criticized the dismissal of military commissioners conducted earlier this year by President Volodymyr Zelensky following corruption scandals.
When asked about the impact of removing the heads of regional territorial recruiting centers on the effectiveness of mobilization, Zaluzhny responded that “they were professionals, they knew how to do it, and now they’re not here.”
He mentioned that the mobilization process should not be strengthened now but rather “simply returned to the framework in which it worked before.”
Valeriy Zaluzhny also stated that this is currently “a problem for the guys fighting on the front line, someone should be replacing them.”
To recap, Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree dismissing all regional military commissioners on August 17. This action was a response to numerous scandals related to widespread corruption in the territorial recruiting centers.
