President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in Switzerland.
This was stated by the Ukrainian leader’s press secretary Serhii Nykyforov.
“Zelensky arrived in Switzerland to take part in the World Economic Forum (WEF) and to meet with [U.S. President Donald] Trump,” the outlet quotes Nykyforov as saying.
The Ukrainian leader’s press secretary said that the politicians will begin the meeting at around 14:00 Kyiv time (13:00 Moscow time). Nykyforov did not specify what issues the representatives of Kyiv and Washington will discuss.
On January 21, U.S. President Donald Trump said at the Davos forum that he would meet with Zelensky. Later, the American leader’s press pool уточнил that the talks would take place on Thursday, January 22.
At the same time, Volodymyr Zelensky himself said that the condition for a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump should be concrete results. According to him, meetings with the American side should end with specific outcomes. He was referring to strengthening Ukraine or bringing the conflict with Russia closer to an end. Zelensky emphasized that “if the documents are ready, we will meet.”
