U.S. policy towards Ukraine will remain unchanged regardless of whether Trump or Biden wins
January 29, 2024Europe won’t be able to support Ukraine without the United States.
This information Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in an interview with the German television channel ARD.
“Europe alone will not be able to cope at the level at which Ukraine previously received support. Neither with weapons nor financially,” the president said.
According to him, delays in aid from the United States are already influencing some leaders of the European Union. And if the assistance is not provided in the end, and Russia advances in Ukraine, Europe and NATO could face a split that threatens a “new division of the world.”
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky warned that without Western support, Russia could seize Ukraine and urged the West “not to experiment with aid.”
Recall that the day before, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that Western support for Ukraine is at a “critical stage.” According to him, EU countries must significantly increase their assistance to Kyiv, as more than half of the assistance is currently provided by Germany alone, which promised Ukraine seven billion euros this year.
Prior to this, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stated that the US had run out of money to aid Ukraine. The head of the Pentagon said that the US is unable to supply Kiev with missiles and ammunition at the same level as a year ago.
