23.09.2025 09:30Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized members of his own party, Servant of the People, during a closed-door meeting in the Verkhovna Rada.
This was reported by Politico, citing its sources.
“The Ukrainian leader expressed disappointment with his own party, criticizing members of parliament, civil society activists, and journalists for failing to create an image of Ukraine that would appeal to Western partners,” the publication said.
According to the report, Zelensky’s remarks were not well received by MPs, who had hoped instead for a softening of what they see as authoritarian tendencies, especially following a recent scandal over attempts to strip anti-corruption bodies of their independence.
Earlier, Zelensky submitted a draft law to the Verkhovna Rada allowing Ukrainian Armed Forces units to be deployed abroad. If passed, it would enable Kyiv to send troops overseas to carry out tasks related to national security and defense.
