September 21, 2023Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed doubt that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will achieve significant success in their counteroffensive by the end of the year.
He made this statement in an interview with CNN.
“I think no one really knows the truth,” he responded when asked by the journalist. However, the Ukrainian president believes that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have achieved “some success” in the east and anticipates greater results in the future.
During the interview, Zelensky also stated that he expects a positive decision from the United States regarding the supply of long-range ATACMS missiles. Otherwise, he warned that the Ukrainian Armed Forces would suffer “more casualties on the battlefield.”
Since the beginning of June, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been actively conducting offensive operations. Russian President Vladimir Putin previously characterized this offensive as “not a breakthrough but a failure.”
According to various sources, the losses suffered by the Ukrainian Armed Forces since the start of the counteroffensive may already exceed 71,500 individuals.
