Zelensky has lost the support of the parliamentary majority, – Le Monde

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky has lost the confidence of the parliamentary majority represented by the Servant of the People party.

This was reported by the French newspaper Le Monde, citing members of the Verkhovna Rada from the ruling party.

An MP from Servant of the People noted that the turning point in relations between Zelensky and parliament was the vote to limit the powers of Ukraine’s anti-corruption bodies and the subsequent public protests. After that, the country’s leader lost the support of the parliamentary majority.

He stressed that such controversial bills could become a trend “if trust between the [Ukrainian presidency] and parliament is not restored.”

Earlier, data from a poll by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) showed that Zelensky’s popularity had fallen amid negotiations and the scandal involving the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO). His current trust rating stands at 58 percent.
