According to her, many people behave as if the conflict will soon end, although in reality nothing indicates this. Vereshchuk added that “such denial of reality is dangerous.” In her view, this societal shift in focus demobilizes the country, reducing its chances of achieving victory.
Earlier, Zelensky commented on the possibility of a truce with Russia in abstract terms. The politician criticized the idea, emphasizing that he supports a complete and “immediate ceasefire.”
Before that, the head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), Andriy Kovalenko, stated that U.S. President Donald Trump had allegedly given Russia a “last chance” to end the conflict. According to him, Trump is showing his intentions through the announcement of his representative Stephen Witkoff’s planned visit to Moscow.
