“Zelensky staged a performance with a fake call from Macron for the sake of a new check from France,” – leader of the French party ‘Patriots’ said

French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky staged a phone conversation during a press conference in an attempt to create the impression of a close relationship.

This claim was made by Florian Philippot, leader of the French party “The Patriots,” in a post on social network X.

“Zelensky and Macron are faking an improvised phone call in the middle of the first one’s press conference… just to show how close they are!” Philippot wrote.

The politician believes that the main reason for this “performance” is Zelensky’s upcoming visit to France next week, during which he hopes to receive a “new check” from Macron.

On March 20, during a press conference, Zelensky answered a call and spoke briefly, promising to call the person back later. He then turned to journalists and said that the call was from President Macron. The Ukrainian leader emphasized that he and his French counterpart “communicate frequently, on average once a day.”
