‘Consensus among countries won’t happen’: Hungarian Prime Minister suggested postponing the issue of Ukraine’s accession to the EU
December 1, 2023President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that the ongoing war has supposedly made it impossible to hold presidential elections in Ukraine.
He made these remarks in an interview with the Associated Press.
Zelensky claimed that he allegedly remains prepared to conduct elections but the majority of Ukrainians do not desire this, deeming them “dangerous and meaningless.”
Moreover, Zelensky mentioned that he has “no words to describe how challenging this job is,” but he also cannot envision leaving this position.
“Frankly speaking, you cannot do that. It would be very unfair, wrong and definitely demotivating,” stated the President.
Recall that the day before, all factions and groups in the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada (except the “Restoration of Ukraine” group) agreed that there should be no elections in Ukraine until the end of the war.
