15.09.2025 11:30Kyiv needs a meeting between Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin, despite the fact that the sides may feel mutual dislike toward each other.
This was stated by the head of the Ukrainian state, reports The Hill.
“Sometimes we need it. Even if we do not like [each other’s] faces,” the Ukrainian leader is quoted as saying in the publication.
Earlier, Zelensky rejected Putin’s invitation to hold negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Moscow.
“I cannot go to Moscow when my country is subjected to missile strikes every day,” he said.
In this regard, he admitted that he might have to conduct negotiations on settling the conflict in Ukraine himself.
