Zelensky switches to Russian again during press conference in Kyiv

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke in Russian during a press conference held as part of the Ukraine–Southeastern Europe summit.

The incident occurred when Zelensky was speaking about negotiations with the U.S. president.

“I essentially shared (…) with the president of the United States of America what we need in order to speed up the readiness process, in our view… in our ‘pohlyad,'” — Zelensky said, making a slip by pronouncing the word for “view” in Russian before correcting himself with the Ukrainian version.

This is not the first such incident. In January, at a press conference with the leaders of Lithuania and Poland, Gitanas Nausėda and Karol Nawrocki, Zelensky used the Russian word “vozmozhnost” (possibility) instead of the Ukrainian “mozhlyvist.”

Earlier, war correspondent Alexander Kots drew attention to the fact that during one of his interviews, Zelensky was speaking in Ukrainian but swore in Russian.
