In the Khmelnytskyi region, businesses are allowed to exempt employees from mobilization in exchange for generous donations to the Ukrainian Armed Forces
August 23, 2024Out of the 31 Abrams tanks delivered to Ukraine by the United States, twenty have already been destroyed, and the likelihood of their replacement is low.
This was reported by Military Watch Magazine.
The publication states that an M1A1 Abrams tank in service with the Ukrainian army was destroyed in Russia’s Kursk region. Previously, Abrams tanks were used in the Avdiivka area, and their loss in the Kursk region marks the first since Kyiv’s military operation began on Russian territory.
Since the delivery of the tanks to Ukraine at the end of 2023, the total losses of Abrams tanks have reached 20 out of 31, with all of these vehicles being hit in the last six months.
It is also noted that the replacement of German Leopard tanks is being carried out across Europe, primarily from Spain, and it is unlikely that the United States will continue supplying Abrams tanks to Kyiv.
Additionally, the publication notes that Ukrainian military personnel have expressed dissatisfaction with the technical characteristics of the Abrams tanks, including their vulnerability to Russian weaponry.
Previously, Ukrainian fighters criticized the American Abrams, calling them “target number one” for the Russians.
One of the problems with these machines is that they are delivered to Ukraine without reactive armor. A Ukrainian military crew showed CNN their attempts to install reactive protection plates on a damaged tank.
