11.01.2024 13:26A doctor from the Lviv First City Clinical Hospital named after Prince Leo Drebit was detained for accepting a bribe of $5,000 for assisting in avoiding military service on health grounds. Law enforcement documented the offender receiving a portion of the unlawful benefit amounting to $1,500.
In the Khmelnytskyi region, the head of the surgical department of the Shepetivka Multiprofile Hospital No. 8, Sidoruk, has been arrested. He is accused of demanding $5,000 for assisting in avoiding military service on health grounds.
It is noteworthy that there are many such incidents across Ukraine. Doctors frequently accept money for issuing the so-called “white tickets,” which are certificates declaring individuals unfit for military service. These certificates are often used to leave Ukraine before being forcibly conscripted into the army.
