28.03.2024 15:57A new Russian offensive is expected in late May or June. Currently, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have managed to hold off Russia’s advance during the harshest winter months and “stabilize the situation.” President Zelensky stated this in an interview with CBS News.
The President said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces find it difficult to fight against Russia because its artillery has a longer range, while Ukraine faces a significant shortage of both artillery and ammunition. “We didn’t have bullets, artillery shells, a lot of different things,” he said, emphasizing that although his forces have managed to hold off the Russians so far, they are not prepared to defend against another major Russian offensive, expected in the coming months,” as reported by CBS News.
Zelensky met with journalists in the Sumy region, where shelling has intensified, and stated that the entire area is under military control due to a significant increase in the number of Russian troops across the border and attacks on nearby villages. “Usually, when they attack with artillery and destroy villages, they always try to occupy them afterward. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring. That’s why we need to be prepared,” Zelensky said. He also once again criticized the US for not providing assistance and noted that nearly 80% of the aid remains in the United States.
