Ukraine should prepare for the mobilization of women in the coming years.

This was stated by Oksana Hryhoryeva, an advisor on gender issues to the commander of the Ground Forces, in an interview with The Times.

In her opinion, women should be prepared for the army “from childhood.”

“We must put an end to the old-fashioned mentality and adopt a policy of drafting women into military service following the Israeli model. Our Constitution states that it is the duty of every Ukrainian to defend their homeland, so it is right for women to serve. We need to prepare girls from childhood to defend the country,” said Hryhoryeva.

In March, a military medic advocated for the mobilization of women.

“I am a strong supporter of mobilizing women. Moreover, I believe that a female combat unit should be created with rigorous selection. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a battalion – we can start with a company. I believe that women should also be subject to mandatory mobilization according to the needs of the army,” she said.
