The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution on absentee summonses introduced by the law on strengthening mobilization
28.06.2024 - 10:14The number of border control posts has increased in the Chernivtsi region, and they can appear in any settlement within the region.
This was announced by Ihor Zarudnev, an assistant to the head of the Chernivtsi Border Detachment.
He confirmed that border control posts are stationed at the entrances to the region and in several villages, with some operating around the clock. Zarudnev explained the necessity of these posts by stating that during the peak tourist season, draft dodgers disguise themselves as tourists. Since the entire region is essentially a border area, checkpoints can appear anywhere and remain for any length of time.
“We often encounter people arriving in the Chernivtsi region who claim to have relatives here but do not know the names of the settlements. Therefore, there are cases where border guards do not allow such people to enter the region,” Zarudnev noted.
Earlier, the mayor of Chernivtsi expressed frustration that employees of the territorial recruitment center were “hunting” people at the city’s train station, and that soon no one would want to visit the region.
