“There are not enough volunteers among Ukrainians abroad to form a Ukrainian Legion”, – Polish Minister of National Defense says
02.10.2024 - 11:25Ukrainian forces have withdrawn from a strategic stronghold on the frontline in the eastern Donetsk region.
This information reported according to a report by “Bloomberg”.
“Russia has taken control of the strategically important coal-mining city of Vuhledar,” the article states.
The report highlights that the city holds a strategic position on the battlefield, especially ahead of winter, with high-rise buildings located on elevated terrain surrounded by flat fields.
The city is situated a few kilometers from a Russian-controlled railway line that runs between Donetsk and occupied Crimea. This line could serve as an alternative for the Kremlin to the Kerch Bridge and maritime routes to the peninsula, which are vulnerable to attacks by Ukrainian naval drones, “Bloomberg” notes.
Yesterday, “Deep State” reported that Russian forces had captured Vuhledar. Military sources also indicated that Ukraine has completely lost the Volnovakha district of Donetsk in its old pre-reform boundaries.
Various Telegram channels had also earlier confirmed the capture of Vuhledar by Russian forces.
