NATO cannot confirm the participation of North Korean soldiers in the war against Ukraine
16.10.2024 - 18:01Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico made a more detailed statement in which he expressed hope that the war in Ukraine may soon come to an end, but warned that Ukraine could face an outcome similar to the “Munich Agreement” of 1938, resulting in the country losing part of its territory and becoming a victim of major world powers.
“Peace with Russia will be made by Ukraine and the United States. And I fear that Ukraine will become a victim, just as we became victims of the Munich Agreement. That is what I believe,” Fico said.
“It will be very painful, and I wonder what the point was of killing 100,000 people on both sides,” he added.
Fico also suggested that Ukraine will likely have to relinquish part of its territory.
“Do you really think the Russians will agree to give up Crimea and Luhansk?” he asked during a session of the parliamentary European Affairs Committee.
He continued, “It is very likely that Ukraine will become a victim of the great powers; that is probably what will happen. I am very sorry, but while they mock Ukraine, they are fighting to the last Ukrainian soldier,” Fico stated.
Previously, media outlets reported that Slovakia is only willing to supply weapons to Ukraine if paid for.
