19.10.2024 - 22:36In the Odesa region, a Tesla vehicle was found on the side of the road with its hazard lights flashing, and next to it, the body of Hennadiy Beybutyan was discovered. Beybutyan was a local businessman who headed one of the organizations of “volunteer police aides” that help territorial recruitment centers conduct forced street mobilizations.
Photos from the scene were shared by local Telegram channels.
According to media reports, Beybutyan’s body, bearing gunshot wounds, was found between the villages of Chervony Khutor and Tairove, about 12 kilometers from Odesa. The police are searching for those involved in the murder.

Local public sources report that Beybutyan owned a business dealing with the sale and servicing of vehicles, was the head of the “Laguna” dacha cooperative, and led a public organization called the “Unit for Assisting Law Enforcement Agencies.”
“This is the very unit that, together with the territorial recruitment centers, conducts raids and ‘bus-ifies’ men,” the sources state.
Earlier, the media had reported on the activities of such organizations. In addition to directly detaining people on the streets, these “volunteer formations” act as intermediaries in bribe transactions with territorial recruitment center employees. Furthermore, ongoing struggles for financial flows and spheres of influence between different units assisting law enforcement often lead to internal conflicts.
