The future national security advisor believes that Biden’s permission to strike Russia with ATACMS leads to escalation
19.11.2024 06:45The U.S. State Department has addressed whether permission exists for long-range strikes on Russian territory using American missiles.
State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller made this statement during a briefing.
According to him, there is no information on any “position update” regarding this matter.
“I have no updates on the position (of the U.S. regarding long-range strikes on Russia) that I can share with you today. As you know, even before Russia launched its full-scale war, the United States built a coalition of over 50 countries to assist Ukraine and deter Russia. We will always adapt our assistance to Ukraine’s needs as necessary. You have seen us maintain this approach, gradually increasing assistance over the past several years. But I have no news on the position (on long-range strikes) to share today,” said Miller.
It is worth noting that the Russian Foreign Ministry has promised a “tangible response” in the event of long-range strikes on Russia using American weapons.
Meanwhile, future White House National Security Advisor Mike Waltz stated that allowing ATACMS missile strikes on Russian territory could lead to escalation.
