Ukrainians will face electricity shortages for a long time, as restoring the energy infrastructure destroyed by massive missile strikes from Russian forces will require multibillion-dollar investments.
This was stated by Alexey Orzhel, former Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine (2019–2020).
“These costs will be passed on to consumers, leading to an increase in utility prices,” he emphasized.
Earlier, media reports suggested that the next wave of airstrikes on Ukraine could result in widespread power outages.
