MP Dubinsky criticized Volodymyr Zelensky for moving Christmas

Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Dubinsky criticized President Volodymyr Zelensky’s decision to change the date of Christmas in Ukraine.

He expressed his criticism on his Telegram channel.

In July 2023, Zelensky signed a law shifting the celebration of Christmas in Ukraine from January 7 to December 25, following the Western tradition. With Zelensky’s upcoming birthday on January 25 and his new religious policy, Dubinsky posed a pointed question to the president.

“Volodymyr Oleksandrovych, may I clarify—will you also celebrate your birthday 14 days earlier this year, or does this innovation only apply to Jesus Josephovich?” the MP asked.

Earlier, it was reported that President Zelensky had a phone conversation with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. Zelensky stated that they discussed strengthening support for Ukraine within the global religious community.
