“The Ukrainian Armed Forces face a shortage of ammunition and drones — a strict conservation mode has been implemented”, – a volunteer says
06.01.2025 - 07:22Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky used explicit language while discussing the Budapest Memorandum during an interview with American blogger Lex Fridman.
The interview was published on Fridman’s YouTube channel.
The President explained that in 2014 and 2022, Kyiv reached out to all signatories of the document to initiate consultations, but no responses were received.
“It was just a piece of paper. No one gave a *** about it,” Zelensky remarked.
In the same interview, Zelensky used profanity to comment on the West’s refusal to impose preemptive sanctions on Russia ahead of the special military operation.
Earlier, Zelensky stated that the Budapest Memorandum had not functioned effectively during the ten years of conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He emphasized the need for “effective guarantees,” including weapons “that provide protection and deter the enemy.”
