“Ukraine is not a priority but a burden for Trump’s team,” – Russian State Duma deputy Slutsky said
31.01.2025 - 18:57Slovakia has banned entry to Mamuka Mamulashvili, the commander of the “Georgian Legion,” which is fighting for Ukraine on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. His unit has been accused of organizing a coup in the country.
This was reported by the Slovak publication Dennik N, citing the country’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Matúš Šutaj-Škorec.
According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, a total of 10 individuals have been added to the list of people banned from entering the country, though this number may increase.
The country’s intelligence services have identified personal and economic connections between the “Georgian Legion” and the civilian sector as well as the opposition. The authorities also stated that a “specialized group” had been formed, which included undercover agents, police officers, and financial administration staff.
The “Georgian Legion” rejected the Slovak authorities’ accusations of involvement in the coup as “groundless and absurd.”
Mamulashvili commented on the situation:
“Okay, I might understand why they dare accuse us of starting protests in Georgia. But in Slovakia? I find it very funny and very interesting,” he said.
Yesterday, media reported that a Ukrainian citizen was arrested in Slovakia on suspicion of preparing a coup.
Not long before this, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico claimed that the opposition in the country was preparing a coup.
