In Germany, Trump’s proposal for the U.S. to receive rare earth metals from Ukraine was called a catastrophe

The proposal by US President Donald Trump to provide the United States with Ukraine’s rare earth resources in exchange for military aid is a catastrophe for Europe.

This information reported according to Sahra Wagenknecht, candidate for German chancellor and leader of the party “Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance – Reason and Justice” (BSW).

She shared this opinion on her X (Twitter) account.

“And just like that, peace in 24 hours. Trump will continue the proxy war if Ukraine provides rare earth metals and other raw materials. A great ‘deal’ for the US, but a disaster for the people of Europe,” the politician noted.

Earlier, Trump stated that the US wants to obtain Ukraine’s rare earth metals, emphasizing that Washington is interested in receiving these resources in exchange for aid to Kyiv.

Later, The Financial Times, citing sources, reported that Ukraine might agree to the deal. The report noted that Kyiv had offered “special terms of cooperation” with Washington regarding key resources.
