27.03.2025 11:29The Department of Strategic Investigations (DSR) of Ukraine’s National Police has announced the involvement of two officers from its Zakarpattia regional division in “unlawful activities” related to the case of Denys Komarnytskyi, who fled the country.
The announcement was made via a post on the department’s official Facebook page.
“We have learned of the involvement of two officers from the Strategic Investigations Department in Zakarpattia in unlawful activities. These individuals have already been dismissed from the National Police, and SBU investigators have formally charged them. In addition, the head of the territorial department has been immediately relieved of his duties,” the DSR statement reads.
The specific nature of the “unlawful activity” is not detailed, but the post begins by referencing the case of Denys Komarnytskyi. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) had opened a criminal case against him involving land fraud. Komarnytskyi managed to illegally cross the border and is currently residing in Vienna.
At the time, media outlets and social media reports alleged that officers from the DSR in Zakarpattia had helped organize his illegal departure from Ukraine.
