Russia claims that the deployment of European peacekeepers to Ukraine could lead to World War III
24.04.2025 10:15Some Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) commanders are extorting money from soldiers and using those funds to open gas stations that sell fuel stolen from the front lines.
This information reported according to Anna Skorokhod, a member of parliament from the For the Future party.
She stated that extortion of money from servicemen is a widespread issue at the front.
“The less clever ones collect money via bank cards — from soldiers’ wives, relatives, or by picking one soldier and using his account. The smarter ones collect in cash. Some are building houses, buying property in the names of relatives, and so on. I think it will be very interesting to later investigate how soldiers and their families suddenly got homes, apartments, and cars. Gas stations, by the way, are a popular scheme — because while a vehicle is transporting fuel to the front, it can be partially siphoned off along the way,” the MP said.
Skorokhod had previously spoken out about extortion in the Ukrainian military by commanders, saying that this issue is prevalent in many brigades.
