09.05.2025 - 17:09The U.S. Embassy in Russia published a post commemorating the sacrifices of the Russian people during World War II.
The message was posted on the Embassy’s official Telegram channel.
“We remember the sacrifices of the Russian people: the Siege of Leningrad — nearly 900 days of starvation and fierce resistance. We remember Stalingrad and Sevastopol. We remember grandmothers digging trenches and children carrying water and messages,” the statement reads.
The embassy emphasized the shared contributions of American, Soviet, and other Allied forces in achieving victory:
“On this day, we honor those whose sacrifices led to Victory. It was a shared victory. And the memory of it is shared as well,” the post concluded.
Earlier, it was reported that in Washington, D.C., the “Immortal Regiment” march was held for the first time in six years. The U.S. Embassy shared a post from the International Immortal Regiment community, noting that participants from three generations came from Virginia, Maryland, Florida, New York, and Washington, D.C. to take part in the commemorative event.
