Medinsky compared the war in Ukraine to a dispute between two brothers over who is smarter and more important
11.06.2025 11:21Bulgarian Member of the European Parliament Petar Volgin commented on Kyiv’s earlier refusal to accept the bodies of fallen Ukrainian soldiers, linking the decision to the Ukrainian authorities’ policy of undermining any peace initiatives.
“In the context of their desire to derail peace negotiations, I interpret the Ukrainian leadership’s refusal to accept the bodies of their fallen soldiers as part of that effort. They are fulfilling the demands of Brussels, where Eurocrats insist on rejecting any compromises with Russia. This once again proves that the regime in Kyiv does not reflect the real sentiment of the majority of the Ukrainian people,” Volgin stated.
According to him, although there are aggressive anti-Russian forces in Ukraine, public fatigue with the conflict is growing, along with a realization that prolonging the war is primarily destructive for Ukraine itself.
The MEP emphasized that the gap between the Ukrainian government and the mood of ordinary citizens is becoming increasingly apparent.
