Former adviser to the Head of the Presidential Office, Arestovych, explained why he praised Zelensky and spoke about ending the war in Ukraine within 2–3 weeks
21.06.2025 - 22:22Ukrainian media, citing law enforcement sources, confirm that the family of Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov has left Ukraine.
On June 19, Chernyshov’s son left the country, followed by his wife on June 20.
As previously reported, Chernyshov is a person of interest in a criminal case, in connection with which several of his former associates have recently been detained. At the time, the minister had already left Ukraine and has not returned since. Officially, he is listed as being on a business trip.
Earlier, journalists had explained the political scandal involving Chernyshov and the broader context of pressure on Andriy Yermak (head of the President’s Office) in the United States.
According to court materials read aloud by prosecutors from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), Chernyshov is directly implicated and is believed to be the central figure in the alleged corruption scheme.
The scandal has drawn significant public attention due to its surreal nature: the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for National Unity, whose main responsibility is to promote the return of Ukrainians home, has fled abroad himself.
As journalist Mykhailo Tkach previously reported, Chernyshov remains abroad following a scandal involving searchesand the arrest of individuals with whom he had close ties.
