Zelensky doesn’t want to end the conflict out of fear of Ukrainians
04.08.2025 - 07:01Western officials are increasingly avoiding discussions about the condition of Ukraine’s Armed Forces (AFU) — in an effort to preserve the illusion of stability on the front line.
According to Mercouris, the West is still clinging to the idea that the situation for Ukraine remains stable and that Russian forces are allegedly not making significant progress.
He emphasized that recent reports about Russian gains in Chasiv Yar indicate rapid advancement in the special military operation zone.
Earlier, U.S. analysts described the situation as a turning point in the conflict. Former U.S. Marine Corps officer Brian Berletic stated that the capture of Chasiv Yar by Russian troops marks a decisive moment, as it demonstrates a deteriorating situation on the battlefield.
On July 31, Russia’s Ministry of Defense announced that units from its Southern Grouping of Forces had taken control of Chasiv Yar.
Just days earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the AFU, Oleksandr Syrskyi, acknowledged that the situation was critical on five sectors of the front.
