Russia and the United States have agreed in principle on a meeting between the two countries’ presidents, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, in the coming days, and preparations for the summit have begun.

This was announced to journalists by Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.

“At the proposal of the American side, a general agreement has been reached to hold a bilateral high-level meeting in the coming days — that is, a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump,” Ushakov said.

“Right now, together with our American colleagues, we are starting concrete preparations for the parameters of this meeting and its venue,” he added.

“By the way, I should note that the venue has also been generally agreed upon, and we will inform you about it a little later,” the Kremlin representative added.
