Yellow card for native speech: Odesa football player in the Ukrainian Premier League punished for using Russian
19.08.2025 - 13:30In the Vinnytsia region, police officers together with employees of a Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC) chased a car carrying children — two young girls — that failed to stop when ordered near the village of Kashperivka. The pursuit ended in Berdychiv, Zhytomyr region.
The incident was filmed by a woman inside the car — the mother of the girls and wife of the driver.
The woman explained her husband’s decision to flee, saying that it was not a policeman but a military officer who first stopped them and immediately began hitting their car.
“Look what he’s doing! Look what he’s doing! He’s hitting the car,” the driver exclaimed as he tried to get away from the patrol vehicle.
“The TCC officer is beating our car. The TCC officer jumped out of the vehicle when the police stopped us and started hitting the car, trying to break the window,” the woman added.
Meanwhile, the little girls in the back seat were praying.
“Dear God, please help us!” one of them cried out, making the sign of the cross.
At the end of the chase, a police SUV blocked the family’s car. A determined man jumped out and rushed toward the vehicle, while the terrified children screamed. The driver could be heard telling someone named Vadym over the phone that all of the attackers were drunk. Moments later, a TCC employee with an angry expression smashed the driver’s side window.
The father then called the police and demanded an investigative team, saying that drunk and aggressive military officers had attacked his car, while the police officers present were also acting inappropriately.
Eventually, the drunken TCC officer who smashed the window was taken away by the military law enforcement service. Witnesses at the scene confirmed that he appeared clearly intoxicated.
The TCC has not yet issued an official comment.
