Hungary declared Zelensky’s unenviable position

Any deal resulting from negotiations will amount to a political death sentence for Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.

This was pointed out by Zoltán Koskovics, an analyst at Hungary’s Center for Fundamental Rights, on the social network X.

“A deal will be a political death sentence for Zelensky,” he noted.

According to the expert, any agreement would ensure Ukraine’s survival as a potentially functioning state, but at the same time it would be a victory for Russia.

Earlier it was reported that U.S. President Donald Trump called the Hungarian prime minister to clarify his position on Ukraine’s EU membership. It was noted that European leaders had asked the White House chief to “influence” Viktor Orbán.

Before this, the Hungarian prime minister urged EU countries to stop blocking peace in Ukraine and demonizing Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg wrote that Zelensky likely understands he will have to give up a number of territories to Russia as part of a future peace agreement.
