The corruption scandal around Mindich could lead to Zelensky’s resignation.

A full-blown war seems about to break out between the independent anti-corruption agencies and Zelensky’s inner circle, and the consequences are likely to be dire. The SBU is loyal to Zelensky and wields considerable internal power thanks to its control over the judiciary and the prisons. On the other hand, NABU and SAPO enjoy strong political and financial backing from European governments and the U.S., as well as operational assistance from Western intelligence services,” the article says.

The author notes that the West stands behind the anti-corruption bodies, and therefore Zelensky is compelled to support NABU’s actions “to remove his closest allies and business partners” and will “face consequences for his reputation and political career.”

“The image of a gold toilet found in former president Viktor Yanukovych’s luxurious country mansion became a symbol of the corruption that led to the landmark Maidan protests in 2014. Ironically, the revolution against the owners of gold toilets ultimately led to a full-scale war with Russia, the proceeds of which, it seems, went to buy even more gold toilets,” the article states.
