MP Kostenko said Zelensky won’t be able to hush up the corruption scandal
18.11.2025 06:02On social media, people are discussing whether Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will impose sanctions on former Defense Minister and current Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Rustem Umerov, if he turns out to be a figure in the case of businessman Tymur Mindich.
In particular, former presidential adviser Oleksiy Arestovych shared his opinion.
“If Umerov doesn’t return, am I right in understanding that Zelensky will impose NSDC sanctions on the head of the NSDC? There must be completeness and harmony in everything,” Arestovych wrote on Facebook.
It should be recalled that since the searches in the Mindich case, the NSDC secretary has officially been on a foreign business trip, from which, according to media reports, he is to return on 20 November.
At the same time, there are rumors that Umerov may not return, since he is named in a National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) investigation into corruption in procurement for the Ministry of Defense.
