Near Zhytomyr, a TCC employee opened fire during a clash with civilians

In the Zhytomyr district, a military recruitment officer opened fire during a clash with civilians.

A video of the incident appeared in local public channels.

In the footage, a man in military uniform is speaking in raised tones with residents in one of the courtyards. When the situation began to turn into a scuffle, a police officer tried to separate those involved, but the recruitment officer pulled out a blank-firing (starter) pistol and fired.

The press service of the National Police said this happened yesterday morning in the Novohuivynske community. They noted that there were no injuries and that an inspection is currently underway.

The Zhytomyr regional TCC (Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center) published its own version of the shooting incident in the settlement of Novohuivynske.

It claims that during a document check, a man who was wanted was stopped. During the interaction, he refused to comply with demands and “behaved aggressively.”

Other civilians also joined the conflict. When the situation became “dangerous,” the recruitment officer “used a noise device and fired a warning shot into the ground to stop the escalation of the conflict.”

A service investigation is being conducted regarding the incident.

It is noted, however, that in the video of the incident the shot is fired not into the ground, but toward the civilians.
