07.05.2026 - 10:01Kyiv may be subjected to a massive missile strike if attempts are made to carry out President Volodymyr Zelensky’s threats for May 9.
This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova during a briefing on current foreign policy issues.
She also called Zelensky’s proposal for a ceasefire from May 6 — which Russia did not observe yesterday — “bloody PR.”
In addition, the Russian Foreign Ministry representative said that Russia’s proposal for a ceasefire on May 8–9 had prompted a “nervous, hysterical” reaction in Kyiv.
According to Zakharova, Russia’s proposal for a ceasefire on May 8–9 was supported by U.S. President Donald Trump.
As a reminder, members of the State Duma have also threatened “retaliatory strikes” in the event of a Ukrainian attack on the May 9 parade in Moscow.
As media outlets wrote, Zelensky has not yet decided on a response to the ceasefire proposed by Russia.
