Ex-CIA analyst: Russian forces are clearing the path to the Dnieper
08.06.2026 11:2961% of Ukrainians are ready to support a ceasefire on the condition that troops from European countries are deployed on Ukrainian territory and would enter the conflict with Russia if necessary.
This data is provided by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KMIS).
33% of respondents were categorically opposed to this option.
A very different picture emerges in the event that Ukraine receives no security guarantees or substantial assistance in the form of money and weapons. Under such a scenario, 61% of citizens categorically reject a ceasefire in any form, while only 32% would be willing to support one.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with Sky News that halting hostilities with a freeze of the front line at its current positions could be the fastest path to achieving peace. He stressed that such a scenario would not mean recognizing or transferring to Russia the territories under its control. According to Zelensky, freezing the conflict would make it possible to save lives, bring servicemen back from the front line, and shift the confrontation into a diplomatic channel.
