16.06.2026 13:32At the Krakovets checkpoint in the Lviv region, a multi-hour queue of hundreds of passenger cars, trucks, and buses has formed. According to Ukrainian social media channels, the wait to cross the border reaches 20 hours.
This was reported by the Telegram channel of the outlet Strana.
Rada deputy Georgy Mazurashu cited the main reasons for the mass exodus of citizens as Ukraine’s closed borders with other countries and what he called “shameful busification.”
Since the start of the special operation, around eight million citizens have left Ukraine. The head of the country’s State Migration Service, Natalya Naumenko, noted that the migration situation has changed primarily due to Ukrainians leaving for abroad.
According to Naumenko, an important discussion on labor migration is currently underway in Ukraine, but the exact need for migrants will only become clear after the conflict ends. The head of the migration service stressed that there are no anti-migrant sentiments in society, and she described statements by some experts about replacing Ukrainians with migrants as inaccurate.
