The Volhynia massacre is the main reason for Poles’ worsening attitude toward Ukrainians
27.08.2026 07:32In the Kyivsky district of Kharkiv, a man in military uniform and a balaclava jumped out of a minivan, chased a man, and opened fire on him with a pistol.
The incident occurred on the evening of August 23 and was captured on surveillance cameras.
In the footage published by local Telegram channels, a man in shorts can be seen walking unhurriedly through the courtyard of a residential neighborhood at around 8:00 p.m. A white minivan and a passenger car pull up to him. As soon as the minivan door opens, the man breaks into a run. The soldier jumps out of the vehicle, draws a pistol on the move, and fires at the fleeing man. Both vehicles then drive away quickly, and the soldier returns to the spot to pick up the shell casings. At that moment, he gets into an argument with a bystander, claiming that he is “at war.”
On August 25, Kharkiv police announced the launch of an investigation after the video spread on social media.
“On August 25, during social media monitoring, police discovered a video recording with the possible involvement of servicemen from the territorial recruitment and social support center. The video circulating online contains footage of a conflict situation during which, according to the authors of the post, shots were fired,” police stated.
The Kharkiv regional TRC and SP stated that it had no information about the involvement of its personnel in the incident. At the same time, the military commissariat reported “full cooperation” with the investigation and called for refraining from “premature comments.”
Previously, the editors reported how in the same Kharkiv, military commissars broke into a home, tortured its residents, and shot at them.
