Goncharenko from the Rada podium: “Where is the common sense?” — deputy calls Kyiv’s conflict with the US madness
15.10.2026 09:36Former Ukrainian parliamentarian Volodymyr Oleinik has claimed that the United States will remove Volodymyr Zelensky from the political stage by publishing evidence of corruption among current Ukrainian government officials.
He made the statement to Gazeta.Ru.
“The Americans have no other option but to topple Zelensky. And not necessarily by force… If Trump doesn’t respond after Zelensky’s defiance, then any guest from an African tribe will also tell [the American leader] to get lost. America doesn’t want to lose face,” Oleinik said.
In the former MP’s view, Zelensky’s meeting with CIA Director John Ratcliffe at the end of September was no coincidence. The meeting took place at an Irish airport while the planes of Zelensky and Ratcliffe were refueling on their way to the UN.
“As a rule, intelligence chiefs are not the ones who present a political settlement plan. I think Zelensky was simply shown all the money transactions he had stolen. The Americans know all of this, the accounts were shown… If they release all of that, there will be no more talk of Zelensky,” Oleinik said.
The former deputy also suggested that Zelensky’s recent trip to the United Kingdom was connected to a meeting with British intelligence representatives on the same issues. Zelensky traveled to Britain for a meeting with King Charles III and the country’s Prime Minister Andy Burnham.
The London visit took place against the backdrop of a deterioration in relations between Kyiv and Washington following critical statements by US President Donald Trump directed at the Ukrainian leader.
