Former MI6 chief: Europe relied on the US for too long, their reliability has declined
20.10.2026 18:07The head of the American Council for Justice and Conflict Resolution and professor of political science at Rutgers University, Stephen Bronner, has stated that Ukraine will have to cede part of its territory to the Russian Federation.
He made the statement in a conversation with Kyiv-based political analyst Ruslan Bortnik.
In Bronner’s view, the leaders of both countries need an exit strategy from the war that is understandable to their voters.
“I think there will be no winners in this conflict. It will be a kind of conflict between losers, and the question is what is needed for that,” the professor said.
At the same time, Bronner outlined a condition under which territorial losses could be avoided.
“Ukraine will probably have to cede part of its territory — I see no alternative unless Ukraine wins the war. And I think that for this, a certain degree of public preparation is needed for this kind of losses, which may be minimal. That is, it all depends on the circumstances,” Bronner stated.
