September 18, 2024A father of three children does not automatically have the right to deferment.
This is reported by the Poltava Territorial Recruitment Center.
The mere notation in the birth certificate of a military obligated person as a father does not grant him the right to deferment. By law, the father must be financially supporting his children. A deferment is not granted if there are arrears in alimony payments for three months.
Additionally, a father does not have the right to deferment if he does not live with his children and does not pay alimony. Furthermore, a man who is raising an adopted child is also not entitled to deferment if the child’s biological father is paying alimony. In such cases, it is considered that the child is being supported by their biological father.
Recall that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has simplified the procedure for granting deferments from mobilization for military obligated individuals who care for persons with disabilities or are parents of multiple children.
